An ambitious woman who wanted to create a web series that examined the gender representation of video games was targeted in an online campaign. She was not deterred by the assault, actually, it just reinforced her determination to be a media critic and feminist. She has won numerous awards to recognize her significant contributions to the world of feministism. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her work as a critic of media and also founded Feminist Frequency. The nonprofit explores the portrayals of women in pop culture today.
