Kari Sam Wuhrer was born April 28, 1968 is an American actor and singer. Her career began when she was a teenager and is best famous for her character of Maggie Beckett in the television show Sliders as well as her role as Sheriff Samantha Parker in the horror comedy film Eight Legged Freaks.Wuhrer was born in Brookfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Karin (nee Noble), an accountant for payroll, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer, who was a police officer as well as a car salesman. There are three of her siblings. As a teenager, she sang in nightclubs, sneaking out of the house to sing. From the Wooster School, at 13 years old She began her studies in the art of drama. After that, she studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, Marymount Manhattan College at Columbia University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, under the famous instructor Uta Hagen. Kari was born into an extended family with four children. As a teenager her nightclub, she performed as she slipped out to do a show. Kari was first introduced to acting in Wooster School aged 13 and then went into drama school at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Columbia University Marymount Manhattan College and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art under the renowned Uta Hagen. Kari began performing when she was in her teens, her first TV break coming from the 1987's MTV Remote Control.
